Feng Shui Basics: The Foundation of Good Feng Shui

Using feng shui can be relatively uncomplicated if you know the feng shui basics. It is true that feng shui can become more complicated as you move to higher feng shui levels but the right foundation will certainly put you in the right direction.

1. Clear up your clutter – eliminate all the clutter on your home. This feng shuibasic will “lighten” up your home so to speak. In addition, getting rid of all these clutter will feel like therapy because it can be likened to getting rid of all unwanted things in your life.

Don’t think that cleaning is tiresome and a time-consuming process because your efforts will be very well worth it.

2. Have good air and good light – this feng shui basic is one of the most essential things for your home. Having good quality light and air are critical for good chi to circulate around your home.

Open the windows and introduce air-purifying plants in your living space. You should also use as much natural light as possible, full-spectrum lights are recommended.

3. Define your home’s ba-gua – this is the energy diagram of your living space in feng shui. Through the use of a feng shui compass, you can discover which specific aspects of your home are actually connected to areas of your life. For example, the southeast area is most likely connected to abundance or wealth in your life.

4. Know the five feng shui elements – this is a feng shui basic you should definitely know about. The five elements will help you balance your life if you make effective use of it.

You can strengthen certain elements of feng shui in your home. For example, if you want to attract prosperity, you can introduce the element of wood or water to your house to achieve this purpose.

5. Know your birth element – everyone has their own birth element. If you know this feng shui basic, you will be able to support your element and improve your life.

For example, if your feng shui element is fire, you can integrate fire element colors such as red, yellow, and orange to your living space. Putting wood is also recommended because of its strong relationship with fire.

6. Know your Kua number – the feng shui Kua number will let you benefit by using the right positions. You can adjust your office, your bed, your dining area, and other furniture in your home to achieve the best direction.

7. Be mindful of your home’s energy level – the energy level of your home will have a direct impact on your well-being. So make it a point to pay attention to the “triangle” that affects your health. This triangle includes the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.

After you know these feng shui basics, the next step is finding out which technique can make the most positive impact on your life. You can integrate bits and pieces of your knowledge throughout your home. Pretty soon, you will see the difference in your health, career, and life.
