Feng Shui: Ensuring The Productivity Of Your Office

Before we talk about the implementation of Feng Shui in the office premises let us make ourselves identified with this term. It is an ancient art of placement in one’s office or home. It is mainly revolves around the theory of maintaining balance and harmony in the environment. It was developed 4000 years ago in china.

As time passed by, the implementation of this ancient art has evolved. With more and more western people adopting this ancient Chinese philosophy, there is modernization in the technique that is involved. However, when anybody adopts Feng Shui, there is an ancient technique which is always followed. Theories like Xuan Kong, Qi (Chi) are still looked upon.

Feng Shui is adopted in office because people still believe that it will help to build a good work atmosphere, increase productivity, better relationship with the customers and staff and achieve success in business activities. Many business tycoons adopt this ancient philosophical art in their office, just because it yields them result.

This philosophy is based on the vision that land is alive and is filled with energy. Making this energy flow in a positive direction is all that is done in Feng Shui. The type of construction and setup in the office should be followed after a proper Feng Shui calculation. Modern interior designers and Architects also follow this ancient art.

There are certain things that are considered by Feng Shui. Firstly, the desk in you office should be in a distant position from the door. It shouldn’t be on the same line of the door. There should not be any obstruction in your to the door from where you sit. However, if you miss out on these, there is a cure for this. A mirror should be placed. Otherwise there will be negative flow of energy. 

The next thing you should notice is the Clutter. The more your office is cluttered, tension will build. Keeping your office clean and tidy is also important. Scattered files and things likewise will obstruct the free flow of energy in office and thus creating Negative Chi. This will in turn decrease the productivity level in your office.

Always remember, the type of surrounding you live in will influence your behavior. Thus, dull colors must be avoided in your work atmosphere. Instead, go for energetic and lively colors that will uplift the energy of your employees. This will make them more dedicated towards work and will motivate them to work productively.

Feng Shui is all about maintaining the right balance. There should good amount of light in the work atmosphere. This will affect on the health of the employees. Artificial light needs to be bright so that it can give the required amount of energy. Best form of light is the living light, so position your office infrastructure in such a way that living light is emitted. 

Placing a water fountain in your office also calls for productivity as stated by Feng Shui philosophers. Fresh running water is always invigorating and is also considered to wealth in this ancient Chinese art. They also reduce the stress level in the work atmosphere. Keeping plants inside your office premises also will affect the productivity of your office.
