Feng shui is being used by many people these days to create a proper environment around us for a better living.
It is an art form, first used by the Chinese in the ancient times, where upon it is held that all inanimate things, however inconsequential they may seem, have indeed some effects on the lives and well being of people.

The concept of bagua in feng shui – Bagua is a main concept in feng shui. This describes the map of feng shui, which is taken as a way and method to have a proper understanding and also to classify our different working and living areas.
The feng shui map is octagonal in shape having nine quarters and each quarter denotes the nine different areas of life. The map also gives the position of the area of each quarter in the map with respect to each area of life they represent.

Feng shui and the five primary elements of life – As per the feng shui, water, earth, fire, wood and metal form the five primary elements that affect our lives and environment.
These five different elements though move in different directions, but they are interrelated, and the energy level of the environment surrounding us, is dependent on it.
Feng shui and the energy or the chi – The energy or chi, forms the most important concept of feng shui. The chi or energy is in a constantly changing motion, which in turn is dependent upon the five primary elements.
The study of feng shui tells us about the kind of energy each object contains and also the direction in which they move. It also conveys the ways and means by which the chi propagates and activates the energy in things surrounding us.
