Tips For A Perfect Feng Shui Home
The Chinese people have been practising Feng Shui, an art form for better and healthy living, since ancient times. In the modern age, it has also caught the imagination of the people from all walks of life.
People, especially the urban folks, have taken up this art form in a big way in making the home a better place for living. Feng Shui is based on the theory that all inanimate things exude a kind of energy known as ‘Chi’.
These energy flow can either be bad or good depending upon the place of it existence. Hence, by placing the right things at the right place, the positive effects can be gained.
There are various ways and means by which the art of Feng Shui can be used to make the home a better living place. The various tips by which these can be achieved are as follows –
I. The house as a whole and particularly the entrance of the house should be free from dirt as it is supposed to breed illness among the family members. For this reason, the Feng Shui dictates that the slippers and shoes should not be left at the doorsteps.
II. The presence of the beds in the house should be such that there is a brick wall behind it.
III. The Chi or energy doesn’t pass through the mattresses. Hence, Feng Shui proscribes to sleep on the mattresses lying on the floor.
IV. According the Feng Shui art, water is supposed to exude the Chi, the good energy. So, it is desirable to place a water fountain inside the house, which would help in achieving the ambitions in life.
V. The presence of a marble table in the kitchen or dining room is not conducive to free living. Hence, its placement should be avoided.
VI. As per the Feng Shui art, the color red is a symbol of fire. So, the sofa cover and the curtains should not be of red in color as they might lead to stress, work hurdles and impediments in life.
VII. The television set in the house should not be placed in the bedroom. If it cannot be avoided, then it is imperative that it should be covered with a polythene cover, when no on.
VIII. The Feng Shui art says that fire and water act in cross-purpose. Hence, the washbasin, washing machine and the refrigerator should be kept away from the cooking stove.
IX. The bed is the most important furniture of any house. The Feng Shui art says that placement of a mirror near the bed may act as the presence of a third person in the relationship.
X. The bathroom and toilets should not be built just opposite to the kitchen or the cooking stove. This is according to the theory of the Feng Shui, that says the nature of fire and water is quite opposite in nature and doesn’t augur well for the welfare of the home.
These are some of the tips that the art of Feng Shui encourages to adopt to make the home an endearing place.
